✝️ Lean on God
✝️ Lean on God
Leaning on God does not mean ignoring our feelings or pretending problems do not exist. It means bringing every emotion, thought, and burden under His authority. As we pause, pray, repent, and obey His Word, God renews our minds and changes our character. That inward transformation eventually changes how we speak, respond, and live.
The central challenge of this study is simple: when emotions attempt to take control, turn back to God. Trust His direction, surrender what you cannot carry, and take the next small step of obedience—even when your feelings resist.
Leaning on God transforms our character, speech, choices, and attitudes.
When emotions begin ruling our responses:
Turn back to God.
Pause and pray.
Ask forgiveness for stubborn or sinful reactions.
Choose God’s Word before responding.
Take the next humble step of obedience.
Psalm 42:5 — Return to Hope
Be honest with God about troubling emotions.
Do not allow those emotions to become your guide.
Speak God’s truth to your soul.
Choose worship and hope instead of worry.
Consider: Are my feelings leading me more than the Lord?
Proverbs 3:5–6 — Trust God’s Direction
Trust God with your whole heart rather than relying on your own understanding.
Remember that feelings are not the final authority.
Ask God for direction before reacting, replying, deciding, or walking away.
Repent of self-reliance and choose simple obedience.
Consider: Am I leaning on God or on my fear and frustration?
Matthew 11:28–30 — Bring Your Burdens to Jesus
Jesus welcomes people who are tired and burdened.
He does not shame the weary heart that needs help.

Lay down burdens carried through pride, fear, or self-sufficiency.
Obey the next step Jesus gives you.
Consider: What am I carrying that Jesus is asking me to surrender?

Submit every thought to the authority of Christ.
Name sinful or fearful thoughts, reject them, and replace them with God’s truth.
Consider: What thought is Christ calling me to capture?

God does not tell us to ignore anxiety.
Bring every concern to Him through prayer and thanksgiving.
Allow prayer to redirect your heart from panic toward trust.
Remember God’s presence, goodness, and faithfulness.
Trust His peace to guard your heart and mind.
Consider: Am I praying about this or only replaying it in my mind?
